Implementing a community-wide approach, working closely with government agencies, local organizations, community volunteers and residents, the Rosa Viola Hill Smith Community Center provides programming targeting the needs of the residents.

Adult activities include classes on personal development and educational opportunities, such as parenting, literacy, English as a Second Language, counseling, GED, Bible study, employment training, health classes, basic life skills, computer classes, cooking, and drug prevention programs. The community involvement programs presented by guest speakers are held during the resident meetings. Social activities include arts and crafts, shopping, bingo, movies, plays, luncheons, and field trips.

Children ages 6 to 18 are welcome to join the "KIDS CLUB" program. Activities for the children include personal development and educational opportunities, such as group counseling, drug/smoking/gang prevention presentations, reading classes, computer classes, mentoring, and homework tutoring. Social and recreational activities include field trips, movies, swimming, summer camp, game days, birthday parties, picnics, outdoor sports activities, parades, bingo, and holiday parties.

A newsletter is distributed monthly to the residents to advise them about up-coming events and programs.
